The Potomac-Appalachian Transmission Highline (PATH) is a joint venture of American Electric Power (AEP) and Allegheny Energy to build a new high-voltage interstate transmission line across Frederick County. Their website is: www.pathtransmission.com

The company's current plan is to construct a 765 kV transmission line across the southern part of our county. A local group, the Sugarloaf Conservancy is asking the company to consider constructing a HVDC transmission line that would have less impact on the community. Laura Melia has agreed to use this space to present information about this project and to monitor any impact on Middletown Valley.
